On April 25, 2015, Nepal was struck with a magnitude 7.8 earthquake which left 9,000 people dead and more than 22,000 people injured. Just 17 days later, another quake of magnitude – 7.3 struck. About a third of the nation’s population was affected and hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless and facing extreme poverty.
One of the directors of Burgess Paluch and Kaleidoscope, Paul Burgess, recently visited Nepal and the staff of Burgess Paluch and Kaleidoscope were touched by the stories Paul brought back. They recently decided that they wanted to do something to help the people of Nepal and have stepped up to sponsor a child for a year through Homes Nepal. Through their donations, a little girl named Debaki, whose parents were killed in the earthquakes, will get an education, schoolbooks, a uniform, and a guaranteed a meal at school.
