The Opportunities
These four exciting Director level roles, represent pivotal positions within the newly defined operating model of the Office of the General Counsel. Each role offers a unique opportunity for a highly experienced senior lawyer to contribute to the University, by leading a small team and supporting the General Counsel in executing the Office’s strategic vision and objectives.

Director, Legal Services – Property and Commercial
Responsible for a broad range of matters including; major construction projects, a large leasing portfolio, planning matters, significant commercial transactions, procurement activities and IT projects.
Director, Legal Services – Research and Commercialisation
Responsible for a large and complex intellectual property related portfolio including; major research projects, clinical trials, commercialisation, trademarks, patents and copyright.
Director, Legal Services – Corporate and Governance
Responsible for oversight of the University’s significant corporate and governance matters including; significant ventures with international and/or domestic partners, entity structuring and corporate arrangements, Corporations Act advices, matters related to not-for-profit organisations and the University’s regulatory framework.
Director, Legal Services – Disputes, Administrative Law and Student Matters
Responsible for a large and varied portfolio, including; commercial litigation and disputes, IP disputes, administrative law, investigations, misconduct, FOI support and a variety of student related matters.
About YOU!
To be considered for these dynamic roles, you will demonstrate an extensive history of outstanding achievement in one of the above areas of law, gained within a large and complex environment. You will operate with a significant degree of accountability and autonomy and draw on your commercial nous and strategic thinking to achieve outcomes that will have a significant university impact. Your interpersonal skills will stimulate respect within the legal team and broader university, whilst your focus on customer service will ensure the continued delivery of exceptional legal advice to your internal clients.
