At Burgess Paluch we aim to create recruitment solutions to satisfy each individual role. For some law firm roles and for some corporates we recommend that we undertake recruitment on an executive search basis. Often such roles will be key positions, partner level roles or practice acquisitions.
The beauty of executive search is that it taps more readily into the percentage of suitable lawyers who would be fantastic for the role, but who are not actively looking to make a career move. It also includes searches of our comprehensive database.
We usually recommend that the role be advertised (either branded or generic) and that we are retained to run the advertised recruitment and the search work. In certain markets, where our client list is too long and precludes us from searching effectively, we will advise employers that we are unable to undertake search work. Publications we recommend advertising in include the Lawyers Weekly, The Financial Review and other papers, as well as electronic media such as the Seek website.
While fees for executive search work is commonly performed on a 1/3, 1/3, 1/3 basis, we are also flexible and able to discuss breaking down the search recruitment into specific functions which can be charged at hourly rates.
