Kirsty McNay, Managing Partner

Kirsty is a specialist legal recruiter with more than 10 years experience in the legal market both in her home country of New Zealand and in Australia.

In New Zealand Kirsty set up the legal division of a global recruitment agency. She was highly successful in placing lawyers within New Zealand’s top-tier firms and was the first New Zealand recruiter to place New Zealand lawyers directly into Sydney’s top-tier firms. Kirsty undertook numerous campaigns in NZ for one of Australia’s pre-eminent law firms. When that agency was purchased by a London based global specialised legal recruiter Kirsty was asked to relocate to Sydney where she was instrumental in setting up the Sydney arm of the business. Kirsty led a team and successfully recruited lawyers into Sydney’s top, mid-tier and boutique firms.

Kirsty then spent time away from recruitment to focus on the new addition to her family (twin boys!) and joined Burgess Paluch to set up their Sydney based business in 2014.

Having previously worked with both directors Kirsty was excited to join Burgess Paluch, an agency that mirrors her ethical, solutions focused and professional style. Kirsty believes that being a successful recruiter is first and foremost about building and sustaining long term relationships with both her clients and candidates.

Kirsty has significant experience placing lawyers at all levels within the Sydney market. She has success recruiting at the partner level for her client firms and has developed strong contacts from junior lawyers to partner level
